Determine a Need - Have you exhausted your resources for hourly recruiting (reminding your team about referral bonuses, posting advertisements for position within the last 30 days, etc.)? Do you have several hourly openings? An open house can be a great solution!
Submit the Request - Send a request to Hourlyrecruiting@redrobin.com and a recruiter will reach out to you to plan and execute your event. Have these things ready before you submit the request:
Number of TM's needed and what positions
Dates / Times managers are available for Open Interviews. Typically we suggest 2 or 3 days between 2pm and 4pm. For best turn out, avoid Friday-Sunday.
Ensure that at least one manager is dedicated to interviewing during Open House Times
ROD approval for Advertising costs
Partner with a Recruiter – When your request is received, a member of the recruiting team will contact you within one business day to begin planning.
SPREADING THE NEWS:
Paid Advertising - This will support the Open House and broadcast the openings to the public. Go over paid advertising options with your recruiter.
Social Media – This is a free option! Our recruiting team will create social media events and posts for your hiring event. They will share the direct links with you once created. It is your job to share these, and to involve your TMs in sharing them with their network.
Word of Mouth - Get your TM's to tell their friends and anyone they know that you are hiring. Remind them about the referral bonus program!
Hiring Banners/Flyers – Your recruiter can also supply you with signage for your store to advertise for the open house. Costs may apply.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
Cost – Make sure you and your recruiter make strategic decisions about what ads to pay for.
Availability - Are you and your team able to commit 8 - 12 hours of time to host the Open House? At least GM and AM need to be in store and available during Open House.
Support - Do you need support of your ROD or Trainers to be able to take advantage of this?
Make sure your iPad(s) are fully charged before this! Walk-in candidates need to complete an application before you interview them!
BEFORE OPEN HOUSE:
Review Hirebridge multiple times daily for potential candidates - CONTACT APPLICANTS AND SCHEDULE INTERVIEWS FOR OPEN HOUSE. Please reach out to your recruiter for extra support if needed.
Staff for Success – Scheduling a Host, GM and AM
Host to meet and greet
AM to run the shift
GM to conduct interviews. Some larger markets may need ROD support for the Open House.
Follow-Up! – The day before the Open House, reach out to all invited candidates to confirm their scheduled interview time. This is something your Recruiter can help with as well!
DAY OF OPEN HOUSE:
BEFORE ARRIVAL
Print all applications and interview guides for the candidates you invited. Have additional interview guides ready for walk-in candidates.
Make sure all iPads are fully charged and ready to go.
Set up interview table in a location were you (GM) can monitor the door and watch the flow of candidates applying. If multiple managers are interviewing at once, give some distance between interview locations.
HOST SUPPORT
Have host scheduled at least 30 minutes prior to when the Open House begins.
Show them their role of greeting applicants, directing them to interview area and asking them to sign in.
Have host offer potential TM's water or a drink. Remember, these are your guests, as well as potential TM's.
WHILE INTERVIEWING
Make sure everyone you interview has completed the application. If an applicant has not applied, please give them an iPad and ask them to complete an application prior to their interview.
Make sure ALL potential TM's to sign-in with their name and email address. The sign in sheet helps us track the success of an event, and make sure that we follow up with all attendees.
Most of all, don't forget to have fun!
AFTER THE EVENT:
At the end of the day, your Recruiter will follow up to hear about the Open House!
Make sure to mark everyone you hired as "hired" in Hirebridge.
Provide your feedback to your Recruiter. They are compiling feedback for ongoing tweaks to the program.
